Fake your animal is a project about the relation between man and other animal species. Today more then ever, this relation takes places in simulation and emulation forms, passing through extreme manifestations of love, opportunism, complicity, hate: we love them, we eat them, we raise them and we fear them.
Through the whole history man hasn’t changed his attitude, he is animal among animals.
As for his superior intelligence, man has also built some fictions with which, since the down of times, has recalled, exorcised, or simply represented the animal beings.
We are surrounded, we live with these shapes, these representations, sometimes losing sight of some slight or wide contradictions. Fake your animal gets deep into this.
As some of my projects will remain open, in progress.?I spent months, slowly, using a slow process, shooting film, to convey this idea of connection and separation between us and our animal cousins, and every day I discover something that might help me to say what I think.
Mine is an adaptive or Darwinian work, just a bit against the speed of the world around.
Every week the guys at Dead Porcupine Mag choose a photographic work among their publications to be featured on Dude Magazine.
Dead Porcupine Mag, founded and curated by Raffaele Capasso and Francesco Claudio Cipolletta is a free online blog/magazine which aims to showcase talented photographers from around the world together with reporting hot topics and articles about contemporary photography. We strongly believe photography is about sharing ideas, emotions and experiences: that’s why we encourage fellow photographers and artists to contribute with their works.
